"Appendix removed due to Appendicitis"

About: Homerton University Hospital / Accident and emergency Homerton University Hospital / General surgery Lower Clapton General Practice

(as the patient),

I was in alot of pain sharp 10/10 abdominal so I went on Askmygp and wrote my conditions to Dr Don who asked me to pop into the surgery. Prior to this I had been to another hospital who discharged me with “gastroenteritis” diagnosis. However Thankfully I spoke to Dr Don and she knew straight I had to be seen. Dr Don straight away understood and diagnosed appendicitis. Also arranged urgent care in A&E at Homerton by writing a separate letter and calling the registrar which was very kind of her as I was in a lot of pain and vomiting/ Nausea. A&E consultants and Surgeons confirmed Appendicitis with CT scan and quickly admitted me yo hospital for a Surgery to remove the appendix.

To conclude It was thanks to Dr Dons fast, professional and effective decision making/ diagnosis that I was quickly referred me to Homerton with no further damage done to the rest of the body and my appendix was removed without it exploding. Massive thank you Dr Don!
