"I owe a debt of gratitude to the continence services"

About: Lanarkshire Community Services / Continence Services

(as the patient),

I was referred to the continence services by my GP.  I was very apprehensive before my first consultation as I had no idea what was involved or what if anything could be done to help me.

I was incredibly fortunate to be treated by a specialist continence nurse called Michelle,  the most caring,  empathetic, knowledgeable and helpful nurse I have ever had the privilege of being looked after by.
The techniques she has taught me along with medication recommendations she made to my GP have made my situation immeasurably better than I could have hoped for and I owe her a debt of gratitude that I will never be able to repay.
She has made a huge difference to my quality of life, before I was referred to her the reality of my situation made leaving home even for short periods of time  fraught and filled with anxiety to the extent that I was more or less housebound.
To say that she has given me back my life is an understatement.
With her help I have regained my confidence and I'm no longer afraid to leave home.
To me, specialist nurse Michelle is no less than a miracle worker.

The words, "thank you " feel disproportionately inadequate to express my gratitude and appreciation for the help I have received and the positive effects her expertise has made to me.

Dear crocodileww33

Thank you for taking the time to send in your lovely feedback to us.

It was reassuring to read your positive comments as the continence team work very hard at ensuring they deliver the best possible service to our patients, and they really do focus on making the patient's feel comfortable, so it is lovely to see their efforts recognised by our patients.

That's fantastic news about your improvement, I can see that your quality of life is so much better now and you and enjoying outings once again.

I will ensure this feedback is passed on to Michelle and my team, I am sure they will appreciate it as much as I do.

Please take care

Tracey
