For a number of years our daughter has been receiving Epilepsy management and support from the NHS Nottingham University Hospitals.
There have been a number of occasions that I have required prompt advice from the Epilepsy team.
I recently contacted the team with regard to a change in circumstances relating to my daughter; requiring a well thought out update to a specific component of my daughter’s Epilepsy Management Plan. There were overlapping issues relating to this changing situation. As on all occasions previously the team analysed the relevant facts and information and devised a very satisfactory solution to remedy this difficulty.
Supporting a family member with complex epilepsy can at times be stressful and daunting. From making the initial phone call to the Secretary, all the way through to the issue being resolved; all members of the Epilepsy team worked in a friendly and professional manner to solve this complex issue and bring about peace of mind. I believe that this specialist support system works in a very efficient way and relieves pressure on parents, carers and other areas of the NHS.
I feel very fortunate that this superior service is recognised and provided by the NHS.
Without this specialist service myself and other parents/carers would have great difficulty in sourcing an appropriate alternative. This service is unique and unrivalled.
"A unique and unparalleled epilepsy Service."
