When I embarked upon my search for a remedy for failing hip

I was equipped with memories of a very positive experience of undergoing surgery for complete hip replacement almost a decade ago, and I anticipated that the circumstances currently prevailing would of necessity impose upon the procedures certain constraints which would amplify personal inhibitions, and heighten reasonable reservations.

In the event I have to commend each and every staff member who collaborated in the considerate, skilful delivery of services which combined to make my experience thoroughly

enjoyable. I had not relished the prospect of professional pre-operative consultations being conducted in the 'remote' mode, but the thoroughness, courtesy and sensitivity with which they were accomplished served to achieve all that I

could have hoped to derive from a face-to-face discussion.

On being admitted for surgery I found the personal courtesy, attentiveness and helpfulness offered by every member of staff was, without exception, exemplary. Regard for privacy was perfectly balanced with commitment to safety and well- being. Informative, focused and friendly, the staff members were purposeful, but not officious, in the execution of their

tasks, and their visits were always welcome. The domestic and catering staff members were as considerate and accommodating as their medical colleagues, being clearly fellow- members of the one admirably splendid team.

I am reluctant ever to submit negative feed-back. It would be impossible for me to find any to submit on this occasion.

Equally, I am given to being sparing in my use of superlatives,

but on this occasion failure to do so would mean that I would be lost for words. I am most grateful for my experience as a surgical patient who discovered at first hand the unique ambience of an acknowledged centre of so many special skills - the Spire Norwich Hospital. I am grateful indeed.
