"It would be impossible without these services"

About: District Nursing / District Nursing - Larne

(as a service user),

Have been getting care services for 12 years and NHS district nursing. Would not be able to do day to day tasks without them.

Had a spinal cord injury 12 years ago so need to be washed dressed and fed everyday. My wife is my main carer and also looks after our two children which without these services would make it impossible to attend to all our needs 24/7.

Improvement could be for local council to grit our road in winter.

Hi Severityhk68,

My name is Glynis Whittle, I am the Community Area Manager in Newtownabbey and the Lead nurse for the Antrim Locality. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your very positive comments about the Larne District nursing team. It is very reassuring that both you and your wife have been supported by this service for the past 12 years to enable you to remain in your own home. I will share your comments with the team and I have no doubt they will appreciate your recognition of support.

I also acknowledge the need for our local council to grit our roads in winter. This is often vey challenging for our District nursing services in their attempt to access client's homes. I would appreciate if you could possibly raise this within your local council area.

Thanks again,

Glynis
