ICATT have been supporting us with a young man whose behaviours had got harder to manage for a time.
When ICATT came in the young man in Question would only like to go out in the car. If he could not do, he would get very upset with the staff.
The only thing we could do with him was let him sit in the car and listen to music.
ICATT helped us to get the right equipment to make it safe for us to take him out for drives. The young man in question worked out how to take the seat belt off, so he needed a new harness to use in the car as well as a dividing screen to stop him getting hold of the driver while the car was moving.
The OT worked with him to see if we could find other things for him to do outside of the car.
Bindi the nurse who was allocated to work with him was very good with working with us and his family.
The family were quite anxious at times understandably wanting the best for there son. Bindi use her fantastic skills to put them at ease and to make sure they understood some of the more difficult information. The whole ICATT team have been very helpful and easy to talk to with a quick response to us when we need them.
"The help that ICATT south gave us."
