I had a trans nasal gastroscope yesterday at Sunderland Royal Hospital. From the moment of arriving at the unit I was reassured I was going to be well looked after. I was extremely nervous as it was my first procedure of this kind. I was given a private room as I think all patient are in this unit, all of my checks were done and I was left to sit and wait for the procedure. I was then seen by a lovely Gastroenterologist who explained everything to me and what the intended procedure would entail. The nurses working in the treatment room were very reassuring and made me feel at ease. The nurses and Gastroenterologist kept my breathing under control and kept updating me what was happening. Thank you very much for looking after me and taking good care of me, your professionalism and kindness was very much appreciated.
