"Brilliant decision to use Barlborough Hospital"

After my hip replacement operation and overnight stay at the Practice Plus Group Hospital, Barlborough I would like to make a number of observations.

When it had been confirmed that I had a arthritic hip by X-ray I investigated my options. I choose the Practice Plus Group Hospital, Barlborough, what a brilliant decision.

From the very outset my enquiry was dealt professionally and with speed. Appointment made for pre-screening with the surgeon and the team at Barlborough. I was given confirmation as to the extent of the damage caused by the arthritic hip and arrangements were made for a full and detailed analysis of my health and the pluses and minuses of a full operation. Before leaving an appointment date was set for the operation in 5 weeks time. Fantastic.

I was given a substantial amount of clearly written explanations of all the procedures leading to the date of the operation. This gave me a lot of confidence in the whole of the process. Brilliant.

The day arrived I was greeted and made to feel welcome and relaxed. I must admit that I am 77 years young never been kept or had an operation in hospital in my life (I know, lucky man).

Within 2 and 1/4 hours I was being operated on. The whole of the operation team were magnificent every thing clearly explained, I must admit I was extremely nervous, but was given so much encouragement, always professional and with a smile. Excellent.

Transferred back to my room C1 Bay. The support staff of nurses, aux nurses, porters and catering staff were of the highest order, nothing to much trouble and all with a smile.

A couple of hours later the physio came helped me out of bed and walking couldn’t believe it, wow.

I have the names of all who were involved in my recovery, they all know who they are, it would not be fair to name them as I may have inadvertently missed one. The whole of the experience will never be forgotten by myself all because of all the efforts of the entire staff at PPG in Barllborough.

What an outstanding performance from everyone and I thank you all with true sincerity.

This letter may be freely used by the hospital and I fully highly recommend the staff and facilities to anyone.

Last but not least the cost of the procedure was less than other quotes for the exact same operation.
