"My treatment today"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department University Hospital Hairmyres / Trauma & Orthopaedics (Wards 1 & 5)

(as a service user),

I set out this morning to walk 20 miles on the Kiktwalk from Kilbryde Hospice. Fell off the pavement within UHH grounds injuring my ankle and knee and ended up at A&E. I was helped out the car by SAS staff Alison and George and if they hadn't come to  my aid I might still have been in the car

 Thank you both

I just want to thank the whole A&E team but special mention to the lovely receptionist, Kerry on triage,  John the x-ray porter ,Lauren in X Ray  and the wonderful nurses  Debbie and Nicola. They appreciated that I was in severe pain and were caring, compassionate and sorted me out very efficiently. Thanks to Nicola who walked me slowly to my husband. I couldn't sit on the wheelchair if you paid me as I was still too frightened to sit down

From a COVID-19 perspective the department was scrupulously clean. Well done Team A&A.

Thank you for your help this morning.

Dear emmemmcee

Thank you so much for posting on care opinion around the care and treatment you received from staff in the Emergency Department at University Hospital Hairmyres. I was so sorry to hear that at the start of your charity walk you sustained an injury and required to access our services. I am sure you were upset that you were unable to complete the Kiltwalk; hopefully in future you will be able to undertake the walk successfully.

Please be assured that I will share your lovely feedback with the team and also the staff you have personally mentioned. They will be delighted to receive such great feedback for a job well done.

Thanks again for sharing and best wishes for a speedy return to full fitness.

Kind regards.

Lesley
