"Stroke"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Stroke Care

(as a service user),

I had an intracerebral haemorrhagic stroke with Ventricular extensions. I spent the first two weeks in the QEUH, then I was transferred to the RAH.

I have no memory of the first 6 weeks of my stay in hospital, but it’s when my true journey began.

I couldn’t walk, talk, or swallow, it was everything in baby steps. The staff there I hold in the highest regard, everyone from the cleaners to the doctors. To this date I’m forever in their debt.

Dear Ben093,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story and I am so pleased you had a good experience during your time in hospital. I have shared your praise with staff and it means a lot to them.

I hope you are recovering well at home.

Best wishes,

Victoria
