"A lack of compassion and understanding"

About: General practices in Ayrshire & Arran

(as a service user),

Absolutely disgusted at the attitude of one member of staff at my local clinic in Irvine on Friday afternoon regarding my son having bloods taken. He is ill, some days he can leave the house for brief spells other days not- Friday was a good day when he managed out for an hour with friends. To be told if he can get out it’s not their job to do his bloods and it’s not our job to wait about here for him either. Total lack of care, compassion and understanding of our situation.

dear Clarabelle1101

Please accept my apologies for your poor experience and encounter with a member of NHS staff. Please be assured this is not the level of service we hope to provide for our patients and their families and I will be happy to look into this matter on your behalf.

Thank you for taking the time to post about your disappointing experience as it allows us the opportunity to review our approach and ensure any learning required takes place and an apology offered.

With Best wishes

Laura
