"Blood test"

About: East Surrey Hospital

(as a staff member),

Came for blood test recently at the phlebotomy clinic, after 30 mins I was seen. There’s a form from my GP and order from my consultant on the system, a member of staff went to print the orders, I asked them to send a copy to my GP as well, they said yes.

A week later still no results of the blood test, I call my GP, she said I didn’t have the blood test as she can’t see the result on the system, so I call about the result, the person arrogantly said to me that the result is only for the consultant to see not my GP, I mention that there was a form from my GP, they said if my GP wants the result they will have to request it.

After I ask them to make sure the results is copied to my GP, they didn’t appear to listen. Very disappointed.

Dear Surrey78

I am very disappointed to hear of your experience and must apologise for the unsatisfactory service you received.

This series of events appears to be due to a breakdown in communication which I would like to investigate further.

It would help if you could supply me with some more information, so I would appreciate it if you could take the time to contact me directly by telephone on extension 6585/6444 or mailto: kerri.campbell-bowler@nhs.net

Thank you
