"Skin Tag Removal"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Dermatology

(as a parent/guardian),

My 4 year old son had to be out under general anaesthetic to have a skin tag removed from his ear. The staff from start to finish were absolute professionals and amazing and made the whole process which I was nervous about easy and straightforward for my little man.

Dear Ash84,

Thank you so much for sharing your little mans experience with us. Having any surgical procedure is a really nerve wracking time for parents and for the children and we're delighted that our team was able to reassure both you and your son throughout, and that he was well cared for.

We're so grateful to you for taking the time to provide feedback, it really is very warmly welcomed by our team members. I can share that our Senior Management colleagues have already shared your feedback with the team responsible for your sons care, along with their own added thanks.

We really hope your wee boy is recovering well at home.

Sending best wishes to you both.

Take care

Coral

Aw thanks Coral. No problem at all. He had his little

operation on 25th January and is recovering just fine! He honestly asked to come back to the hospital again! To this day he has no idea he got an injection or was made to go sleep or had an operation! Which is incredible! It was just a brilliant experience....the ice lollie and ice cream definitely a hit! Never change that 😉

I love that it was so relaxing that your wee lad sailed straight through it, and that he's already recovered!

Isn't ice-cream and an ice lolly just an amazing medicine? It is astonishing how much it can help (and I don't just mean for the children!!).

We have our wonderful Teddy Hospital that in non-pandemic times children who are either scheduled for procedures, or who have had them, or who just want to come and see what a hospital is about can come and visit. Once we're back up and running we would love him to pop up and say hi and tell us his own hospital story - he'd be so very welcome.

Have a wonderful week-end

Take care

Coral
