"Deeply impressed"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Medicine for the Older Adult (wards 13 - 16)

(as a relative),

I would like to very much thank Dr McDicken, Sister Wilson and all the staff on ward 16, previously ward 15, at Hairymyres University Hospital. Our dad was in recently for 3 weeks and we were deeply impressed about how caring the staff were and how thorough. In particular, we are grateful to them for keeping us, as relatives, so well informed and for answering all our questions. They had time for us, which made all the difference.

Dear Lanarkshire family

Many thanks for taking the time to share your family's experience of your dad's recent admission to Ward 16 at University Hospital Hairmyres. I appreciate it can be a very worrying time for family members when a loved one is in hospital, especially during the current covid-19 restrictions, when no visiting is permitted. I was therefore so pleased to read that Dr McDicken, Sister Wilson and the staff in Ward 16, kept your family up to date in relation to your father's medical condition and displayed high levels of care and compassion towards him, which I am sure alleviated any concerns you may have had.

I hope your dad is now recuperating well at home; please send him my best wishes.

Kind regards.

Lesley
