You hear so many complaints about how bad the hospital and NHS service is that I would just like to tell you about my expereince with my son (17) and say a big thank you to the NHS and all concerned at Rotherham district general.
My son had an accident and hurt his knee. Later we were to find he had fractured his knee into tiny fragments and torn his ligaments. From calling the ambulance, which arrived within 15 minutes of our call, to him being discharged after his operation, the whole process took just 10 days.
He had an x-ray on the morning we took him in, another the followng day and then an MRI scan 4 days after that. Staff from the hospital phoned me to arrange the scan and were extremely helpful. From here he attended a pre-surgery appointment which again the staff called me to arrange, and were more than helpful. He saw Miss Amanda Rees the following day and then she operated on his knee the following morning.
People complain about the waiting times for being seen and how bad the hospital is but myself and my son have nothing but praise for them, so we would like to say a big THANK YOU to the ambulance staff, the pre-surgery staff, the x-ray technicians, Miss Rees, who was great, and the ward staff the day he was in the hospital. He is now in physio and doing extremely well.
"Nothing but praise for Rotherham Hospital "
