"100% kindness and competence"

About: New Cross Hospital / Accident and emergency West Midlands Ambulance Service University NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a relative),

My husband fell off his bike after hitting a pothole. An ambulance was called and arrived in 10 minutes. The paramedics were kind, caring, knowledgeable, in control and made me, his wife, in the nicest way, feel like he was safe and receiving the care he needed. He went to hospital and was x-rayed quickly. That showed he had a broken collarbone as the paramedics had said they suspected. Shortly after that he had a sling, prescription for a painkiller, outpatient appointment, was wrapped in a blanket and was ready to collect. On arrival I parked easily in a collection bay and was greeted by a lovely security guard who later explained the way to the Pharmacy. When I was looking lost on the way to the Pharmacy, a lovely porter asked if I needed help and took me there in a lift.

The care and kindness we were shown made such a difference. We pay a lot of tax and when we experienced such a wonderful service from beginning to end, it's worth it.
Thank you so, so much to all the staff we encountered. We respect, admire and cherish every one of you. I wish we knew their names so we could sing their praises. If anyone from the hospital wants to get in touch, we would love to help to identify them.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to send us your kind words. We're so glad to hear that our paramedics were so kind, caring and knowledgeable when your husband needed them. If you'd like us to pass your message directly onto the crew, please feel free to send your message, along with the date and address we were called to compliments@wmas.nhs.uk, this way we will be able to identify the crew and pass your kind message onto them. Thanks again and we hope your husband is on the mend as soon as possible.
