"Pick up/drop off"

About: Crosshouse Hospital

(as other),

I am a regular visitor at Crosshouse hospital and in the drop off/pick up carpark there is a car permanently parked in 1 of the 3 non mobility spaces leaving only 2 available. This car is there all day. Can't understand why as it is surely a staff member who should be parking like everybody else in the main car park.

Dear pyxisfc55

Thank you for your post. We have had a number of concerns raised around the use of drop off and disabled parking spaces.

The majority of these concerns are about the significant misuse of these bays and the challenges this misuse poses to patients and visitors who hold a Blue Badge.

NHS Ayrshire and Arran has been reviewing this situation and how best to improve access to these valuable spaces.

Following a period of consultation, traffic orders for both sites have been developed in conjunction with the relevant local authorities and will allow Ayrshire Roads Alliance to manage these spaces on behalf of NHS A&A. This will include the implementation of fines for anyone who misuses these spaces. This scheme will come in to effect in May 2021 and appropriate signage will be in place for then.

Best Wishes

Laura
