"Fraser Ward"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - City Campus / Oncology

(as a service user),

I received OUTSTANDING care throughout my 6 week stay, I was delivered the worse news possible, my cancer is palliative, the nurses showed endless kindness and compassion, I cried endless tears, but I never felt alone. A student nurse on the ward, showed me impeccable care (Emma), she supported me to shower and made me feel confident about my body, despite several huge scars, I sat in the shower and cried, but she showed such dignity and respect for me, offering me the time I need. I thought she was a fully qualified nurse, she was that good!!

The nurses, students  and some doctors, are the kindness humans in the world.

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch with us at what I’m sure is a very difficult time for you. I’m very sorry to hear of the news you received while on the ward. Nothing can change the way you feel but I’m pleased to hear that the staff on the ward were able to help you physically and emotionally, especially Emma who clearly went the extra mile to help you come to terms with what is happening. I have shared your unbelievably kind feedback with the team on Fraser ward and our thoughts are with you. If you need any further support at this time please let us know as there are a number of services that we can signpost you towards.

Best wishes

Jamie Lawson
