"My wife’s admission to BCH Cancer Centre"

About: Oncology / Cancer Centre Ward 2B

(as a relative),

My wife has secondary breast cancer and was experiencing alot of pain. After calling the oncology helpline we made our way to the cancer centre level 2 ward B. From the moment we entered the nurse Charlotte put us at ease and told us that the Doctor would be in ASAP. The doctor arrived (Adrian) and although he had questions to ask he could see the pain my wife was experiencing and asked for medication to be administered straight away. He was very professional and took all the time my wife needed to discuss her symptoms. He spent and while and reassured us that we would get the right help. He popped in and out the whole night to ensure things had settled. Charlotte continued to nurse my wife through the night. I think both of these staff did BCH proud and it was clear to see their compassion for not only their patient but worries spouse. My wife spent 3 days in ward B and the staff have been amazing, clearly working to the values for all the HSC pride themselves in. Thanks so much to all but in particular Adrian and Charlotte who looked after my wife so well well she was at her worst.

Thank you so much for your very kind words about the staff caring for your wife during her stay in the Cancer Centre. I am delighted that you both were shown compassion and care by our staff; this is exactly as it should be. I hope your wife is recovering well at home after her stay with us. Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on Care Opinion, it is greatly appreciated. I will ensure Charlotte and Adrian receive your thanks.
