"On complex medications with drug sensitivity"

About: Hereford County Hospital / General medicine

(as a service user),

In patient. Not Covid but had been shielding. Complex health record. On complex medications with many drug sensitivity.

Poor communication from staff.  In a side room. Staff did not discuss care or treatment as in consent. Once given antibiotics that the organism I ws infected with were resistant too. These were prescribed without any discussion with me. Next prescribed antibiotics that I was already sensitive to - again prescribed without discussion with me. In fact the type of antibiotics ordered by the consultant would be acceptable but these were not then by ones given.

I have poor venous access. Treated like a living pincushion to multiple multiple failed attempts to cannulate. Leaving me with infected untreated severe cellulitis of my right hand. Staff not helpful. Consultant ordered a long line. Not done the day ordered so was left 3 days with no results of renal function etc. Dehydrated- not rescued or corrected. Told by staff to eat. Despite no appetite and  nauseated. Treated with little respect not using my name but called ‘love’ ‘their love’ may be nice from my partner, not from a stranger.
