"Bowel Cancer care"

About: Victoria Hospital / Colorectal Unit Victoria Hospital / Day Intervention Unit Victoria Hospital / Pre-assessment Victoria Hospital / SEAL (Surgical Elective Admission Lounge)

(as a relative),

My father was seen in the pre-assessment department prior to his bowel operation recently. SCN Jackie was wonderful. She went above and beyond to make him feel at ease.

Thanks to the colorectal team who have given excellent care all along the way. The two Wendy's and Jayne are outstanding.

A special thanks to Mr Yalamarthi who was the surgeon. I appreciate the input from everyone on the team; radiologists, Dr Clive from oncology, the nurses on ward 52, the SEAL unit, the  nurse endoscopist,, the anaesthetic and theatre team and everyone who works hard in the background making such good care possible.

My father in law was also under the care of the same team not so long ago. Mr Proctor was the surgeon. Mr Proctor and the whole team were superb. Special thanks again to the pre-assessment team at that time - Kathryn, Caroline and Jackie.

Thank you NHS Fife

Thank you Nic and Matt for taking the time to comment on the care your Father and Father in law received from the colorectal nursing team. I am very pleased that they found the care to be excellent. I will pass your kind words onto the other member of the nursing team. Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can support your family further,

Wendy Cunningham

Dear Nic and Matt

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your feedback on care opinion. I am delighted that I was able to make you father feel at ease and the service I provided was 'wonderful', I feel very humbled. I am more than happy to have been able play such a positive part in what must be a difficult time.

I am also happy to read that your father has had a great amount of support and care from other members of the multi-disciplinary team. I wish your father well in his ongoing treatment and recovery.

I thank you also for your feedback regarding your father in law and will pass on all your comments to the pre-assessment team.

Best wishes

Jackie
