My elderly mother was admitted to Admissions Unit 1 recently as an emergency. She has on previous occasions both before and during the pandemic experienced care that has been sadly lacking. However on this occasion my mum was looked after by a staff nurse called Heather. Her style of nursing was not only of the highest professional standards but also had the basic skills of kindness and the ability to put both my mum and the remainder of my family at rest by her excellent communication skills nothing was ever too much bother to her. I myself am a practicing nurse with 46 years experience and I find it is rare nowadays to find nurses with empathy such as hers for patients and family especially in these strange times we live in. I have thanked her but feel she should be recognised for her skills and the excellent care she provided.
"Excellent care"
