"Elective C Section QEUH Maternity Unit Glasgow"

About: Maternity care / Maternity care (Ward 50) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I was admitted one week ago for an elective C Section at 39 weeks pregnant. The care myself and my newborn baby received was excellent. The organisation and communication from Kat the coordinator, the pre assessment midwives and the theatre staff was exemplary.

I would like to particularly thank Dr Waldman Consultant Obstetrician, Dr Primrose Consultant Anaesthetist and Midwife Mary-Anne for their skills, reassurance and care when facilitating the birth of my baby as I was initially quite anxious.

All the theatre staff were amazing and also made my husband feel included. The staff on ward 50 postnatally were attentive and caring. Particularly student midwife Nicola who helped me mobilise post op as part of the ERAS protocol and Midwife Elizabeth who discharged us and taught us how to administer Clexane injections.

All this input ensured we could be discharged safely and confidently within 36 hours. Keep up the good work you are a great team showing true professionalism and care to the families of Glasgow amidst a pandemic.
