Having attended out of hours for back pain in the early morning I was greeted by a gentle nurse named Lauren who adapted her care of me to my needs.
The GP was compassionate and thorough and I was passed through to A&E where a lovely bank nurse called Karen took care of me and helped me feel like I had choices and she explained things well.
I was transferred by friendly Porters and greeted in Medical Assessment unit by a nurse who reminded me of an angel! Not only did Marie care for me with gentleness and compassion but she took the pain I was in seriously and I saw the beautiful way in which she cared for the others on the ward too. She really created a beautiful atmosphere in a place of uncertainty for the many patients who passed through her hands.
Subsequently Abbie and another Marie cared for me with kindness and efficiency. They helped me through a hard night and got me ready to be discharged. The cleaners and auxiliary staff were friendly and helpful too. I’m grateful to all of you, what a lovely team!
