I was really nervous to phone the sexual health clinic, especially during the pandemic, and also feeling vulnerable because I was going through a difficult experience.
A nurse called Susan answered the phone, and straight away her genuine kindness put me at ease and made me feel able to let her know what was happening and why I needed help. Susan didn't hurry me, she took the time to really listen and hear what I needed and what she could do to help. I can’t begin to express how much difference this made. After letting me know it would be best to come in, Susan kindly gave directions knowing that I would be nervous to travel during the covid lockdown. Her directions were spot on! At the clinic Susan kindly saw me so that I didn't have to tell my story again to someone new, knowing that would be hard for me.Susan’s care was amazing from the start to finish. With a kind heart and safe space to talk after bracing myself to make that call, to taking the most painless test I have ever had! and following-up to make sure I had contacts for further help. I was really moved by Susan’s care and want to thank her and the team at Whyteman’s Brae Hospital. You are helping people so much at a time when they really need it, thank you.
