"Great Phone First Service"

About: Accident & Emergency / Phone First

(as a service user),

My other half never visits the doctor but recently he has had to use the phone first service twice. Once for a gammy ear (which resembled a beetroot on his ear lobe) and yesterday because of a cellulitis to his arm which he sustained by looking 'busy' in the garden at the weekend.

Once I noticed that the infection had started to track up his arm, I knew it was time to get him seen (because if he lost the arm, he'd have an excuse to do no gardening at all).

Anyway, the nurse on the phone was great and very personable.  He was given an appointment in Causeway ED.  I have to say I was looking forward to a few hours peace and an evening of Salvage Hunters.  Imagine my surprise when he got back after just an hour!  Arm sorted and antibiotics to cover.  So, thanks to the Nurse on the phone and to the Doctor who sorted his arm out (and ruined my evening of television) ;-)

A very efficient service indeed! #TeamNorth
