"lisburn out of hours and Craigavon A&E Hospital"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department Enhanced Care / GP out of hours Lisburn Health Centre - Dr. Palmer & Partners

(as a service user),

Some weeks ago I had to contact the Lisburn out of hours service, I spoke to a doctor called Dr Carson. I think it is important to say I felt he was reassuring but more than that he treated me with what I can only describe was a “human touch”. We both knew my situation was serious but he kept me calm.

He told me to go right away to Craigavon hospital A&E; which I did. Within about 30 minutes of arrival I was seen and minutes after that I was taken to the resuscitation ward. The consultant appeared just as quickly and said I needed immediate treatment. Everything was explained to me at every point. I felt well informed and confident during the treatment.

I know my condition was serious but it was great that the doctors and I could crack a few jokes as this made me feel at ease. At one point I counted seven doctors all there to help me, support me and reassure me about what they were doing or going to do.

I owe a very big thank you to all the staff within the resuscitation unit.

To all the staff at Craigavon A&E and the A&E consultant also the staff in the transition ward can I say Thank you for making me feel at ease, for your care and compassion.

I am so sorry i can not remember all your names as i feel people need to know who you all are, so others  may feel reassured of how professional and caring you all are.

Can i also say a Big thankyou to the staff working in the back ground of my GP surgery at Dr palmers practice, lisburn. Without you; we as a family would have been lost throughout this pandemic, your support and caring has been 100% as for the GP's you get 1 out of 10.

I am pleased to hear that you were seen by the doctor and treated promptly. It is lovely to learn that you felt reassured and informed throughout your time in ED.

I will share this feedback with the Emergency Department staff and relay to them your kind comments on how caring, compassionate and professional the team were.

I hope you are feeling better and making a good recovery.

Kind Regards
