I was referred to the Primary Care Occupational Therapy Team via my Doctor for my Fibromyalgia and this was also affecting my anxiety. I received a call from Katrina, Occupational Therapist and discussed how the service would be able to benefit me.
I found Katrina very very relatable and I was worried at the start as you don't always click with someone under these conditions but Katrina put me at ease and was very good at explaining the information on exercises and how we were going to move forward with adaptation’s in my home.
I was issued booklets and pamphlets also from Katrina. When I did not find these too beneficial to me, Katrina took the time to talk me through these rather than me reading them all and this really made all the difference and I found this to be of much better benefit to me.
The adaptations in my home have really made a huge difference in making my life easier and the Super 6 exercises have been a massive benefit to and I am still able to use these even though the service has finished for me.
I found my whole experience with the service and Katrina a really worthwhile and beneficial time and do feel that others will be able to continue using the service and benefit from this going forward. I did actually feel a bit sad when my time was over with Katrina but feel this has now allowed me to be able to move forward to the next stage of my treatment which is Physiotherapy and I still continue to use the exercises that Katrina had given to me.
