"Accident in the home."

This is a story relating to an accident in the home whereby my elderly wife who suffers from osteo arthritis /osteopenia and is bipolar 2. Fell over in the kitchen and hit her side on the work surface. 

This incident happened beginning of  March but she didn't feel that she needed to do anything about it so carried on normally. But was enduring a lot of discomfort which she managed with medication prescribed by her doctor for her existing condition.

However at early hours the following day, she could stand the pain no more so an ambulance was called.Two lovely young women arrived and after giving her a thorough examination they convinced her it was safe to go to the hospital to get checked over. These 2 young ladies were very professional and kind to my wife who was very distressed and in a lot of pain.At Epsom A&E she was seen by a charming Doctor x -rayed and diagnosed with having 5 fractures to her ribs. He prescribed painkillers and she was released and told if she was concerned or the pain increased to call an ambulance and get more treatment.

A few days later the pain was so intense we had to call 999. The crew that attended were unbelievable. Andy the senior member was so knowledgeable l though he was a Doctor. His protegee/Trainee Katherine was blossoming under his tutoring and had a very pleasant personality with it. Then there was Simon a Fireman on attachment very charming professional and very assuring with my wife. Under Andy's supervision and the advice given by on call Doctor via 111. He was satisfied all possible checks had been carried out at the scene and it was safe to leave my wife at home with me. Giving me full instructions as to what to do regarding her medication and strongly advised me to contact her Doctor Monday

All of these crew members of both crews  deserve recognition for their professionalism and caring charming ways Both my wife and l are so great full for a wonderful service being provided...Thank You.
