I had my ultrasound on Saturday. I arrived in the department and Linda introduced herself as soon as I walked in. I then met Cathy the radiographer. My bladder wasn’t full enough for the scan to take place and I was encouraged to drink some water. I was shielding pre op and the girls sat me in a private area away from the waiting room and I was given nice cold water to drink. I felt like a huge inconvenience as the girls couldn’t perform my scan at my appointment time and I was scared I was making them late. Linda reassured me I wasn’t a bother and had a chat with Linda which really helped pass the time. The care I received was outstanding and very patient centred. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I felt very safe with regards to covid, I was offered hand gel, the department was well spaced out, thoroughly clean and the toilet was also cleaned just before I used it. There is so much negativity surrounding the NHS at the moment and I felt it was important to shine a light on the exceptional standard of care both Linda and Cathy delivered to me this morning.
