"Ultrasound outpatient appointment"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Radiology

(as a service user),

I had my ultrasound on Saturday. I arrived in the department and Linda introduced herself as soon as I walked in. I then met Cathy the radiographer. My bladder wasn’t full enough for the scan to take place and I was encouraged to drink some water. I was shielding pre op and the girls sat me in a private area away from the waiting room and I was given nice cold water to drink. I felt like a huge inconvenience as the girls couldn’t perform my scan at my appointment time and I was scared I was making them late. Linda reassured me I wasn’t a bother and had a chat with Linda which really helped pass the time. The care I received was outstanding and very patient centred. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I felt very safe with regards to covid, I was offered hand gel, the department was well spaced out, thoroughly clean and the toilet was also cleaned just before I used it. There is so much negativity surrounding the NHS at the moment and I felt it was important to shine a light on the exceptional standard of care both Linda and Cathy delivered to me this morning.

Hi starbucksgal

thank you for your kind comments which I will pass on to Linda and Cathy

I am glad you felt safe and cared for whilst you attended for your examination as
patient centred care is at the centre of our radiology departments and all staff work towards this, so your comments are very encouraging

Thank you again

Take Care

Claire

Dear starbucksgal,

Thank you so much for taking the time to feedback on your quality of care received whilst in radiology

I am so pleased that you felt safe as I'm sure this would have been daunting since you were shielding prior to surgery.

The staff would be delighted to receive such lovely comments and this will be shared with staff across the radiology departments so they continue to provide excellent patient centred care.

I hope your health improves and you make a good recovery.

With warm wishes,

Sara
