I've just been to the gynechology clinic at Teddington Hospital and I must say I am extremely distraught at the careless treatment I've received from the doctor.

I was referred by the GP to have options of treatment discussed and instead the doctor says "What do you want me to do about it?" - I am not a doctor, and I believe the doctor should be the one giving me a list of options and discussing treatment with me, not the other way around.

When I mentioned surgery and asked for advice, the doctor again was very remiss as if she did not want any responsibility over me whatsoever. She did not give me any advice she just stated facts. Even when I asked what the statistics were for this kind of surgery, she was again dismissive. I was given barely no time to dress myself when I was asked "so have you made up your mind yet?"

I felt extremely pressurized and distraught over the entire issue. Eventually after having me ask for the 4th time, she said they do this kind of procedure a lot and that the risks are small.

It is a very sensitive issue, and any doctor should always have as a key trait compassion. I did not feel empathy or understanding whatsoever. I felt like I was a burden, I felt inappropriate and stupid and it is not right for any doctor to make a patient leave feeling this way.
