"Recent admission"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency Lincoln County Hospital / General medicine Lincoln County Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

During my recent admission I was moved to 5 different wards within 4 weeks. Constantly being passed around different wards and drs. The specialist drs wouldn’t come and see me on the ward I’d been moved to. During my last move to Clayton ward, there were some staff who were brilliant however there were some staff who seemed not to have good people skills at all and were very rude. There was an incident of medication being left on the table in the morning without waking me, bearing in mind, some of these were controlled medication!

When in need of some help, it felt pointless pressing your nurse call as no one ever came to you even though you could hear them talking at the end of the bay.

There was one night that had 2 1:1 patients and instead of someone sitting with them you could hear the healthcare staff arguing at the end of the bay because, it seemed, they didn’t want to do 1:1 with them! I thought this was out of order. During this I saw one of the 1:1 patients managing to get out of bed and fall backwards hitting their head. I found this disgusting.

During this admission, I was also told I was refusing medication, and it was being marked on the medication chart... I hadn’t even been offered or brought these medications that I required.
