"CNWL Psych Liaison Team"

About: South Kensington & Chelsea Mental Health Centre

(as a service user),

I too was failed by CNWL, who after spending almost 3 hours consulting with me in December, the report created was littered with inaccuracies, and which also suggested that what I was saying couldn't possibly be true simply because the psych liaison nurse themselves couldn't believe it, and instead, after being told I didn't have any underlying mental health issues and was clearly just suffering from stress as and result of everything I had been through.

The nurse suggested in the report that, even though there had been no discussion or question of my statement in the session, that I was paranoid and simply making it up, which is entirely baseless. When my GP was also sent the report it resulted in weeks of being refused the support I needed and caused a huge amount of distress on top of everything I was already dealing with, and has since caused further damage to my mental and physical wellbeing.

When I raised a complaint to CNWL they didn't respond, and when I spoke to one of the liaison team on the phone and asked why the report created was on the whole inaccurate, they said in an obstructive and dismissive manner that they didn't think they're the answers I wanted, which I can tell you right now they are exact the answers I want, and is what I will get otherwise those at CNWL involved are being taken to tribunal for gross negligence.

The fact is CNWL do not seem to care for the harm they cause me by creating completely this inaccurate report, and the fact this was hugely inaccurate (around 90% of the report was wrong) it suggests a little more than human error and that it is the conduct of their liaison team, who I was then forced to fight to change this and they tried to use medical legal privilege to prevent this.

It is a serious issue for any records held on you to be false, and this is what CNWL have done to me, and I have now made a freedom of information request to find out just how prevalent this issue is and will publish my findings when I have received a response. I have also stated that all consultations should be recorded for reference, and in such cases as these, evidence, because otherwise it is just the patient's word, luckily I have a lot of evidence to corroborate my statement but no one should be having to go through this, most of whom will already be vulnerable and in my view it is an abuse of power and needs to be called out.
