"I feel like a different person!"

About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as a service user),

I started CBT Therapy with Josie about 5 months ago, and feel like a different person!

CBT Therapy really helped me listen to myself and begin to understand why I had no control on my emotions, I have been able to feel more refined as a person and am starting to like myself!

I spoke about things I never wanted to, and the changes in me (emotionally and physically) after doing that were so big. I would recommend therapy to anyone after my experience, Josie has been brilliant and I'm actually going to miss our sessions!

Dear Rosierich,

Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. From what you have written, it really sounds like you have noticed some big changes since you started therapy 5 months ago! It is always wonderful to hear how much the work we do together promotes these changes for you, and I am sure Josie will be thrilled to hear how far you have come.

You mentioned previously having less control over your emotions, which is very common when we are experiencing low mood, or anxiety. CBT teaches us about how our thoughts and behaviour can contribute to these feelings and by challenging some of these thoughts or changing some of our behaviours, we can encourage some really positive changes in these emotions and what we do with them!

I can see you'd also said that therapy has improved things for you in terms of liking yourself which is also a great benefit to notice. For the future, maintain the techniques you had been using in sessions, as these will help you to keep paying attention to those things you do like and hold onto that idea.

We wish you all the best in doing so, and for seeing all of these improvements in the long-term!

Kind regards,

Adam
