"Seems Improved To Me"

About: Charlotte Keel Medical Practice

Ive using CKMP for many years since the early 90s through a lot of ups and downs (both myself and CK) and it seems to have been improving quite noticeably in the last year or two. Obviously how many improvements stay post-covid remains to be seen but in general I find the doctors, nurses and other staff very responsive. i definitely feel listened to. I think the switch to telephone triage to be really helpful for some things where you really don't need to be sitting in a waiting room and staff always call when they say they will and the call handlers seem a lot slicker than previously. It can occasionally be frustrating to be number 6 in a call queue but usually if you are able to call back another time you usually can find it less busy. I find the long information messages at the start of each call a bit annoying. Also, if you need to see the same doctor as previously then it can be a bit of a wait but i think that also improved. I've also become more of the role of the practice nurses in the last year or so and its reassuring to know that they can advise on day to day things and have been great at discussing some general health issues with me in the last year or two. I hope moving forward that some of the practices picked up during this awful time, such as less people at the surgery, more telephone triage continue but that it doesn't mean you cant see a doctor when you actually need to see one. so it's a cautious optimism from me.
