"Seeing the same community midwife made all the difference"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Maternity unit Lorn & Islands Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

My experience the second time round was night and day compared to my first!

I'm so thankful to have seen the same community midwife for this whole pregnancy and follow up care. It made all the difference. So thank you Sheila for your care! (Lorn & the Isles)

A big thank you to the midwifes in Forth Valley Royal for your outstanding care. You turned what was going to be an awful induction on my own into a much better experience. I don't remember all of your names unfortunately but thank you!

Gloria and Katie (student midwife) your constant support and reassurance through labour and delivery was second to none. I can't thank you enough for delivering my not so little girl (9lb 6oz) and thank you for putting up with me!

Dear hf90

Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl.

Thank you for writing about your positive experience of maternity care both in Oban and Forth Valley.

Good to hear that you had the same community midwife during your pregnancy and aftercare in Oban. We know how much women value this. I will make sure that Sheila is aware of your appreciative comments.

Wishing you and your family well.

Kindest regards

Fiona Campbell

Dear hf90

I too would like to send congratulations on the birth of your little girl. I hope you are both well and back safe and sound in beautiful Oban.

Thank you so much for taking the time to send in such lovely feedback and praise for both teams. It is great to know that two different maternity teams worked together to ensure you and your baby had the best care, especially in these difficult times.

What Fiona has said is so true, knowing and having the same midwife care for you makes such a difference, for both the mother and her midwife. I am sure Sheila will be delighted to read your feedback.

Induction can be daunting, more so if you are on your own, so it is fantastic to know that our team helped make it a good experience for you.

I will make sure all of the team, especially Gloria and Katie, see your posting. They will be over the moon to read it, thank you.

With best wishes to you and your family for all the exciting times ahead.

Kindest regards

Gail
