"Cannock 'helpline' for rheumatology"

About: Cannock Chase Hospital / Rheumatology

(as a service user),

Helpline has been no help at all.  Seems to be a purely figurative number and statement that fulfils policy obligations and look good.  No-one seems to answer the phone.  In fact the dial tone currently states that this number does not exist.

I have rung the number in the past and when eventually spoken to someone I think it was the cleaner who happened to be passing and picked the phone up as it had rung for so long.

Complete waste of time.  As a patients I have been left in agony.  I have resorted to stock-piling steroids so that I can take some when a flare up occurs as once the arthritis takes hold it destroys all of my life - my work and therefore the roof over my head etc.

Patients need help on an immediate basis once a flare up occurs, not in several months time when they might, if they are lucky, get an appointment with a 'consultant'.  The very best of British.
