Had 2 visits this week for minor burns to my hand.
I was anxious to attend as I appreciate there would be lots of changes in procedures as result of COVID 19. I saw lots of inconsistencies in staff with regards to PPE and distancing and waiting room rules .
Staff were standing in small corridor chatting with no masks
Staff walking between treatment rooms with mask scrunched in their hand and coffee cup in the other.
Reception staff were inconsistent . One allowed me to have my mum stay with me waiting ,another said my mum had to wait in her car. One receptionist allowed a carer to move the seat out of its marked section .
Waiting area seats were not wiped between patients
A member of staff prepared my dressing then remembered they had no mask on.
Me and my mum did not feel confident in COVID safety in place . We were looking to the staff to lead by example and be professional in their approach
I am a key worker in an early years centre and my mum is an AHP with NHS Fife really understand the importance of risk assessment to guide good practice.
