"A great job!"

About: Northern Ireland Ambulance Service

(as a relative),

Stephen and Niamh from NIAS came to assist in transferring my 87 year old mother to ED this morning for what is her first hospital admission in over 50 years today ( last time childbirth!) . Both crew were extremely friendly and calm in an otherwise hectic situation ( including 3 dogs escaping out ) Excellent care and compassion shown stabilising mum for the journey. Few hours  later with covid restrictions limiting visitors chance run in with Stephen in reception who took it upon himself to return to get clinical update and relay this to me before I left the hospital site. #goingthe extramile and Niamh only with NIAS from November 2020! Great job and thank you both!

It is so heart-warming to read such glowing words about our crews, that you for taking the time to share this experience.

I have highlighted your story to Stephen and Niamh's area manager, to ensure that they get to read for themselves the positive impact that they have on patients and their families. (and their dogs)

I really hope your mother is recovering and that the hospital are able to keep you updated on her progress while you are unable to visit in person.

Thank you once again for sharing your story

Rachel
