"Continued Diagnosis"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiac Catherterisation

(as a service user),

Diagnosed with Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension and called CTEPH for good reason, returned to Hairmyres Hospital for a cardiac catheterisation procedure.  This was to check whether I was suffering angina for example.  Very pleased to report that I wasn't as that would make the treatment for CTEPH more complex and possibly put off for some time.  To come to the point, I had received a right heart catheterisation procedure previously so I knew what to expect.

I can provide total reassurance for anyone scheduled for these procedures as under local anaesthetic they sound very scary.  Thank you Dr McGeoch and the nurses at the catheterisation laboratory for an almost painless procedure.  The nursing staff looked after me pre and post procedure and I felt under the very best of care throughout.

My prognosis was good and that might not always be the case.  Nevertheless, thank you once again the staff at Hairmyres Hospital

I am glad to hear that things went well. Thank you very much for the positive feedback. It is greatly appreciated by the staff who work incredibly hard to reassure patients and keep them comfortable and safe. I will insure that Dr McGeogh and his team are aware of your kind words.
