"Rude response at the respiratory department"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Breathing and lung problems (Respiratory Wards 7a, 7b, 7c & 7d)

(as a service user),

My partner called the Queen Elizabeth Respiratory Department recently.

The person who answered was exceptionally rude to my partner and appeared annoyed when she asked for results of a bronchoscopy carried out 3 months ago. Left my partner, who has a heart condition, very stressed.

Thinking of taking this further. People who work with the public should have the appropriate interpersonal skills to carry out their job. Unacceptable.

Dear Felipe,

Thank you for sharing your feedback, I am very disappointed to read about the staff member your partner encountered during their visit to the respiratory department. I wanted to apologise for the upset and distress this has caused your partner and reassure you that this isn't the type of behaviour we would expect from our staff and that I have shared your partners experience with the service managers.

Kind Regards

Paul
