"Nurses are rude and doesn't listen"

About: Dr Nr Pulman's Practice

Having a complicated medical condition that causes numerous daily problems I try not to involve the drs with most problems but when a new pain arose in the middle of my spine causing numbness in legs, strange tingling sensations I decided to call for a drs phone call to check it wasn't anything to worry about. The Dr didn't call and instead a nurse did that explained she had never heard of my condition but told me it was possibly a water infection (of which I suffer regularly and explained I knew the symptoms were not like this) but she told me to keep walking despite telling her I use a wheelchair perminantly. I was at the urologists appointment the following day and the nurse I saw there was shocked at the state I was in and agreed to dip the urine but agreed with me the symptoms weren't urine infection symptoms and suprise suprise they came back ok that night the numbness was worse but I know ringing the drs won't help as they don't allow you to speak to a Dr only a nurse. I checked what she had wrote on.my notes via the online portal and she recorded as lower back pain and nothing was accurate in the notes she wrote so hadn't listened to a word I had said

There is also another nurse practitioner I have had telephone and face to face contact over the last year or so and the way she speaks to me is appalling, very rude with little bedside manor.

I've been registered at the surgery for the last 15 years and I must say the drs and reception staff are lovely and can't be more helpful but it's become impossible to speak to them, even over the phone unless they call me for routine test results.

It's sad that such a fab group of drs and receptionist are getting such poor reviews for the sole reason of two members of the nurse practitioners that don't listen, have little compassion, are rude in the way they speak and let the whole surgery down.

I'm still unable to mobilise and in major pain but don't want to visit a and e due to the great pressure they are under and don't want to keep getting in touch with the drs because the way the nurses have treated me lately is so poor. So unfortunately as always we are left to our own care that just isn't good enough. I do think that we should be able to make appointments to speak to drs when we have such complex medical conditions rather than only being offered nurse phone calls. I have no problem speaking to them for standards things such as infections etc but when it's a complex matter we should be offered a drs call

I must say though I do give credit to admin, receptionist and drs and do understand they are working through a difficult time. I don't mind waiting a week for an appointment over the phone I'm not expecting instant calls
