"Great experience with A&E"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

I was really anxious about needing to attend A&E as I'm clinically vulnerable but the staff made it so much easier for me. I needed to go into the covid hotspot area as I had a temperature but had no other symptoms. From the start, I had a nurse with me checking all my vitals/ doing tests who helped to calm me down. A registrar saw me within an hour of arrival and did a thorough examination. During this, someone came and offered me a sandwich. I had an x-ray done and was about to see the registrar when an emergency came up, which he stopped by to tell me that he'd see me straight after. When he could give me my results, he was really thorough and made sure I could ask questions. The pharmacy staff were also excellent and even helped me when I got confused about my tablets. This is genuinely the best experience I have had in a hospital and the staff really made sure I was okay. They're doing a great job during a tough time and I love how they kept their morale up by listening to 80s music and singing along together.
