"Breastfeeding advice"

About: Maternity care / 2 West Maternity

(as a service user),

Had emergency c section. Taken up to ward and had very little help from midwives and no advice was given about breastfeeding. They just gave me bottles of formula for the baby and left me to get on with it. Gave up pressing the buzzer for help as no one came. Very disappointed as I have read some very positive experiences of the same ward.

I am very sorry to read this, this is not the outcome our staff strive for. I do appreciate your honesty and feedback as we take all responses seriously to help improve standards of care were necessary.

I can offer you a meeting with myself and the ward sister to discuss your experience if you wish to avail of this. please email sister Campbell-Kelly on
