"My Mum's care at GRI Haemotology, ward 18/19 "

What a wonderful institution my mum has been blessed with. My mum has been helped and encouraged by Dr Bagott (Haemo), Dr Taylor and Dr Burns on ward 18/19 at GRI, and some pretty interesting FY1s who have managed to sort out her PBLs from their transition into OMG clinicals (well done, Proff' Lumsden. Keep them coming!).

So my mum has nearly died on 3 previous accounts in the last year and a half, and her will to carry on fighting has become evident to everyone who has come across her.

To the extent of gaining over 10lbs in weight, thus limiting muscle atrophy and increasing energy.

With a fluctuating immune system, the challenge facing my mum and her Drs and nurses has been great. My mum and I would like to say a massive thank you to everybody involved in her care. Your good work has not gone unnoticed. Thank you.

An increase in treatment and recovery would benefit my mum and increase the understanding of this condition to clinicians and all staff concerned.

We are faced with finding out if she can come under the clinical drug tests being carried out in the U. S. and the U. K, and receive the drugs relevant to this clinically based study. If my mum wishes to carry on living and fighting then both her and I wish these avenues to be pro-actively investigated.
