"The future of services at Westmeads"

About: South Yorkshire Housing Association Limited / Westmeads

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

The current restrictions at Westmeads mean we can meet in each others flats and staff cant come into the flats. Before the Covid pandemic the cafe on site was closed for odd days and then permanently. We missed the cafe because its a social place and everyone used it.   Most people I know say they chose to come to Westmeads partly because there was a cafe open every day that meant they could get lunch there everyday including the weekend. We valued it particularly on Saturday and Sunday because there are no other staff in on those days.

We would like to hear what the future of services at Westmeads will be including key workers. We have two people  who helped day visitors, we were told via the news letter last week they would be finishing because there are no day visitors, this will be a loss because they have been really helpful. Could we have some more information about this. We would like more information about things that are happening and how services here are being affected.

Thank you for your post.

The Coronavirus pandemic and the national restrictions this has brought with it have impacted greatly on day to day life at Westmeads. Changes have been made within the service to keep us all safe and well and minimise the risk of the virus entering and spreading within our site.

In addition to this, there have also been some service changes at Westmeads over the last 12 months. These changes have been communicated via briefing papers, letters and newsletter articles. I appreciate there has been a lot to take in.

I will be creating a news board in the reception area, which will highlight up to date information on the changes taking place, as and when this information is received.
