"My labour story"

I am writing this to give special thanks once again to the fantastic team at Peterhead Maternity Unit for the support and care I received whilst in labour in 01/21. I also wanted to comment that throughout my pregnancy (and post natally) I received care from Peterhead, Crimond and Fraserburgh Midwives and it was always to the highest standard and although the team are based in different locations the care I received was always consistent regardless of who I saw/where my appointment was. 

This was my second labour at Peterhead Maternity and as with my first I was made to feel comfortable as soon as I arrived. The labour was as close to my birth plan as I could have hoped for and i feel very lucky to have been able to have had such a smooth labour thanks to the amazing team. I wanted to also give a special thanks to Midwife Katey who stayed back beyond the end of her shift to help deliver my daughter which I really appreciate as she was there throughout the rest of the labour and I really didn’t want her to leave haha! 

I was naturally a bit anxious about coming into hospital or staying over during the pandemic which the team knew and they really did their best to ensure I was at ease - this included keeping another patient and Myself in seperate rooms after labour which again I really appreciate as did she I’m sure. I always recommend Peterhead Maternity in the first instance to anyone I talk to who is unsure on where to deliver as I was always reassured I would be transferred to Aberdeen in plenty time should I need to be. 

Overall my anti natal, labour and post natal experience has been only a positive one thanks to a great, friendly team :)
