"Outpatient breast clinic Pinderfields"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

(as a service user),

Very efficient service. Good no nonsense communication and professional nursing, medical and scanning team.

I was  concerned about the receptionist on this day. This receptionist wore their mask below their nose as they scratched it. They spoke to an outpatients the recognised and both tucked their masks below their chins to have a full blown conversation across the room. Completely oblivious to the rest of the waiting room.

Disappointing to see this member of staff behaving like this.

Dear Mrs Roosevelt

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding your recent experience.

It is lovely to read that you felt the service you received was "very efficient" and communication was good. However, I am disappointed to read about the poor use of face masks by staff but would like to thank you for raising this with us.

The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust is continually working to tackle the impact of the
Coronavirus pandemic. The delivery of safe procedures is the utmost priority for our
patients, family and staff and I fully appreciate your concerns regarding the measures
being taken and in particular, with our staff who provide patient-facing services.

I will share your comments with the manager of the service so that they can reiterate to all staff the importance of ensuring their PPE is worn correctly.

Thank you again.

Kind regards

Clare Blackburn

(Patient Liaison Improvement Lead)
