"Delay for repeat vaccination"

About: Southern Health & Social Care Trust / COVID vaccination programme

(as a relative),

I got a vaccine in my arm on the 22nd of January, and I haven't suffered any side effects, so I'm quite content with that.

But I was under the impression I was to get the repeat within 3 weeks, but the date I've been given is 10 weeks away, so I'm a bit concerned, and they haven't contacted me to let me know why. I'm not a vaccinologist and I don't know what the effects will be, or whether the person making these decisions is a vaccinologist either. Do you have any explanation for why it is now three months instead of three weeks, or how it will affect me?

Dear Killyliss - thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience on receiving your COVID vaccination, it was great that you dis not have any side effects. I can appreciate your concern at not being able to receive your 2nd vaccine within three weeks. The decision regarding the timing for the second vaccination was taken at a regional level by the Department of Health for Northern Ireland; you can view the vaccination programme using the link below.

I hope you stay safe and well
