"Gross Mistreatment and Care"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / General Medicine

(as a relative),

So my girlfriend had her gallbladder removed about a year ago. This has left her with chronic pain in her bile duct and every couple of months it flares up into extreme pain. In January 2021 she was admitted to hospital twice and refused service and treatment both times and left in a state of suffering over a 24h period. She lost 3 full night's of sleep and has yet to regain her ability to eat and drink.

She was then admitted by a GP to go to hospital a 3rd time she was given minor pain relief and then wrongly discharged with no medication she can take due to allergies. A poor display of care and compassion has been displayed and I'm disappointed and worried about this current state of healthcare at crosshouse.

Dear CallumRPreece

I am sorry to read about your girlfriend's experience of using our services. It is certainly not the experience we wish for anyone in our care.

If it would help, I would be happy to look into her case.

If you wish me to investigate further, please get in touch.

My email is Laura.harvey@aapct.scot.nhs.uk or via telephone on 01292 513610

(Please note I am on leave returning Monday 25th February and will respond on my return)

Best Wishes

Laura
